CHARACTER NAME: T’challa (Black Panther)
SERIES: Black Panther series (Based off of the Who Is Black Panther story arc in 2005)
CHRONOLOGY: Post series (after episode 6)
CLASS: Hero (Though he is not completely good or lawful. He is more than willing to kill if he has to.)

BACKGROUND:
T’challa Udaku was born in Wakanda, Africa. A fictional nation that exists only in the Marvel Universe. Despite being a third world country, they are extraordinarily advanced, with equipment that is many years ahead of most things that even America has in its possession. Which would likely raise the eyebrows of most Americans if they were to learn of such a thing. The reason they are so technologically advanced is because of the Vibranium that crash landed into the nation from a meteorite. Vibranium is a meteoric ore that is highly sought after and-- while not as tough as Adamantium—is still incredibly durable. Even Captain America’s shield is made out of the material. It should also be noted that it is easier to make items with Vibranium, as opposed to Adamantium. And it is likely that Wakanda has a greater supply of the ore than there are Adamantium, since it’s supposedly supposed to be a rather rare metal (even if it is actually used quite often in the Marvel universe). It also has a special property that Adamantium doesn’t have; it has the ability to absorb vibratory energy and impacts. In the show, even though a sniper’s armor piercing rounds can break through solid bullet proof glass, it was no match for the thin layer of Vibranium that was also in the glass. It was capable of taking the momentum right out of the bullet and deflecting it.

In the comic books, the youth of Wakadan are sent to America to help further their education, which is how, in addition to the Vibramium, Wakanda has been able to get ahead of other nations as far as technological advancements. While this isn’t directly shown in the show, it may have been referenced by the fact that Black Panther’s little sister, Shuri studies at a university for two years which Black Panther refers to. T’challa’s Father, T’chaka was also a Black Panther. And so was his Father before him, and his father before that. T’challa’s Father was rather reluctant to begin sharing any of their Vibranium, cures or resources with any of the countries and nations of the outside world. He believed that they were selfish, and their only concern was to turn a profit. Not the safety and well being of their people. Which he makes quite clear when him and his family are invited to attend a Global Economic Conference. Meetings that third world country leaders usually wasn’t invited to. But he was because of the valuable resources Wakanda possesses. He states that “-- until the spiritual advancement of the west catches up to their technological prowess, it would be irresponsible to share out scientific discoveries with you.” His distrust in the west is not completely displaced however, because someone had hired an individual to assassinate the Wakandan leader. His name was Ulysses Klaw. A descendant of one of the men an older Black Panther killed because he was trying to invade the country by force. He hid under the floorboards for a week prior to the meeting. And once he emerges, he kills not only T’chaka, but also his daughter as well. He wanted to finish the job with the rest of the family, but is stopped when he is shot by a young T’challa and has to escape via jumping out the window.

Sometime later in his life during his teen years T'challa was sent out on a journey that teenage men of Wakanda must endure. For T'challa, it meant walking from one end of Africa to the other. During this quest, he Is robbed by a young girl by the name of Ororo (who would later be known to become Storm). He takes the time to catch her, and surprisingly, they soon begin to become friends. She was not stealing from people from her own will, but someone else was making her. T’challa beats up her “boss” and they start a romantic relationship. But T’challa is consumed from the hate for the man that killed his father, Klaw. So he leaves her to return home so he can deal with his own issues and get ready to take the throne as the new Black Panther one day. At one point, it can probably be assumed that—like in the comics—he goes to America further his studies (he is seen dismissing his younger sister, Shuri’s two years of university studies). After years of training, he is finally ready to take the throne, and he does it at the event that is held only once a year in Wakanda. Usually someone would have to have trained their entire life in order to challenge the current Black Panther. But to give everyone a chance, there is a time once a year where the Panther will accept all challengers. Whoever can actually manage to defeat him will become the new Black Panther and ruler of Wakanda (even if the narrators of the matches have stated that there’s a ‘literacy requirement’ if you win.)

To make sure he gets recognition for his abilities, and NOT who he really is, T’challa challenges the then Black Panther (his uncle) while wearing a mask. He manages to defeat him, and becomes the new ruler of Wakanda.

But little does T’challa know that while he has taken the throne, and is making plans to find his Father’s killer, Klaw is putting together plans of going back to Wakanda and killing off the Black Panther blood line. He begins to assemble a team composed of powerful supervillains like Juggernaut, Radioactive Man, Black knight, Batroc the Leaper. and Cannibal in order to invade Wakanda. The attack starts with Juggernaut, who is able to power through most defenses, while Black Knight takes out the air support sent to slow him down. The word of the invasion soon reaches the USA and they decide to “assist” the Wakandans in the attack with their experimental soldiers made up of reanimated cybernated bodies from old soldiers. They do this in order to invade the nation without coming under suspicion. T’challa soon decides that he needs to take out the Black Knight so he leaves the command station and manages to subdue the foe without much trouble. Afterwards he gets word that Radioactive Man is trapped inside of the mines with his sister, Shuri. He flies past her location to get to Niganda where M’Butu is located. M’Butu is the Nigadian ruler who has been helping Klaw with his plan to take over Wakanda. T'challa is hoping he can stop him and still manage to get back in time to save his sister from the villain.

However, when he gets there, Klaw soon contacts him via a communication screen (is that what they call it?) and reveals that he has his Mother hostage. He threatens to kill her, and sink the entire Wakanda nation if he doesn’t kill himself. But Black Panther refuses stating Klaw would just do all of that anyway. He also proclaims that no matter what Klaw did, he was going to kill him. Not long afterwards T’challa’s uncle, S’yan leads a team to the room, and bursts through the door . They try to hold off both Klaw and Batroc while T’challa heads to the location. At the same time this is happening, Storm—T’challa’s old friend—arrives. She uses her powers to take out many of the cybernetic corpses the US government had sent. Likewise, his sister Shuri not only manages to not die against the Radioactive Man, but she cuts him in half with the Ebony Sword. The incredibly strong sword the Black Knight dropped after T’challa defeated him.

Klaw and Batroc prove a match for S’yan and his team, and Klaw tries to hack into their security mainframe. Which Blank Panther himself manages to stop with relative ease by patching the system controls directly to his CAT navigation interface. Afterwards he finally arrives at his Mother’s room and confronts Klaw in a final battle. T’challa thinks ahead for such a battle and has put a thin layer of Vibranium in his Black Panther suit which renders Klaw’s attacks virtually useless. He kills the villain, ending the entire war.

Soon, the cybernetic corpses the US military sent arrives, and offers assistance, but T’challa declines and says if they stay on Wakandan soil for more than an hour, he would consider it a declaration of war. They leave and just then Storm arrives. T’challa and her share a kiss before she takes him to get medical attention. The criminals are put in Vibranium containment, he is reuinited with his sister and all seems well. As a cliff hanger, his cousin T’Shan is revealed to be possessed by Cannibal.

Black Panther is last seen jumping off of a building and onto his vehicle before flying off into the distance.

PERSONALITY:

From a glance in the animated series, T’challa is likely to be seen as a rather serious superhero. He has the high responsibility of being the single ruler of Wakanda, and it is obvious that he takes such responsibility quite seriously. He is able to command his men efficiently, and effectively on the fly, with little to no delay on his part. This shows that through all of those years of obvious physical training that he has had to endure, he also has spent the time sharpening his mind as well. Preparing himself for the throne that he would one day take as King of Wakanda. The position that his Father had before him. This shows that he has a rather focused mind and is willing to work incredibly hard in order to achieve his future goals. Which proves that he is more than fit to be deserving of the title of Black Panther, and the one true leader of his nation. However, at the same time, he is still consumed by hatred over the man who killed his Father, Klaw. This hatred dramatically affects his judgment throughout the entire series (He has even been shown to blank out and have flashbacks to his Father’s death), and because of that his leadership decisions can sometimes be questionable. Or far too brash. The very moment he becomes the new Black Panther on his Inauguration Day his first order of business was to find his Father's killer no matter how cold the trail was. Despite the fact that there was other problems in the kingdom that needed to be dealt with. Another example is when he skips over where Shuri is trapped by Radioactive Man to go straight to Niganda because he thought he could get back in time. And to also “Take the fight to them”. This decision could have very easily caused his sister’s death (it almost did if it wasn’t for the Black Knight’s sword falling into the underground). It’s a choice that almost got his Mother killed as well.

That being said, despite some of his flaws with vengeance, he has still managed to keep a cool head in most situations that a normal person would be more likely to freak out in. Such as in episode 6 when Klaw holds his Mother captive and threatens to not only kill her, but to destroy his entire nation. T'challa already knew that there was nothing he could do to prevent him from trying to destroy his nation or killing his Mother. So instead of doing the heroically stupid thing of trying to be a “martyr” for his nation, he vowed that he would kill Klaw instead, no matter what he did. Rendering any threats or leverage he had over him useless. He shows this same ability to keep a cool head when the country is being threatened not only by the Juggernaut, and the Black Knight, but also the very man that murdered his Father. While at first he seemed to be losing it (he broke a communication monitor after hearing Klaw was there) but he soon relaxed and said he was glad that all of his enemies are in “one place”. This is a trait he shows again when Klaw hacks into the mainframe and he is able to deal with the situation from his hover car with ease. Which happens to also be a demonstration of his vast intellect and his earning of the position of being the eighth smartest man in the world. And in this way, he has perhaps even surpassed his Father as a Black Panther. Which is almost evident by the fact that he learned from his mistakes, having a thin layer of Vibranium put into his suit to protect from bodily harm and things like bullets and stabs. This is the main reason he was able to survive in his fight with Klaw. He thought ahead for such a situation.

Even if for about half the time of the show he is seen as serious, he can also be very sincere and humble in most social situations as well. Even lighthearted usually. When he is sparring with his sister, he tells her that he would tattle on her by telling their Mother if she was ever to betray him. And after saving a child’s life he takes off his mask stating that HE is not God but rather God works through him. He tells the boy that anything that he can do, the boy can do also. He can also be sarcastic even as he gives the Black Knight a sarcastic question asking if God had forsaken him. Additionally, near the end of the show, T’challa proves that, while he is a hero, he can perhaps be merciless as well. He asks Klaw if he had any children. After the villain says no T’challa states that that was good. Because if he had any he would have to kill those too. Whether he was completely serious or just emotional one can not know.

Even if it was during his youth he has shown a love for people regardless of what their background is. His relationship with Storm-- who would later become his wife-- is evidence of that as she tried to rob him when they first met.

POWER:

In Earth-616, Black Panther has all the “basics” that are associated with characters that do not have super powers. He is at peak human condition in just about every physical category thanks to the a heart shaped leaf in Wakanda that grants enhanced abilities. While this is not seen in the show, it can only be assumed that he still took this at some point. And under that same token, most of his abilities aren’t shown in the Motion Comic as well. But as far as his physical capabilities in the comics (which I will be using as a canon source for his powers) he has peak human strength (able to lift 750 pounds), speed, agility, endurance, healing, and as well as senses. And in most of these categories outside of strength he is better than any Olympic athlete. In the comics he was able to fight with Reed Richards in complete darkness almost as if it was day. Similar to how an actual Black Panther would. Not to mention he was capable of detecting Sue Richards’ presence off the sound of her foot steps and sense of smell alone. He is also a very talented martial artist.

Intelligence wise Black Panther is no slouch either. While it didn’t exactly happen in the motion comic, it can still be assumed that—like most of the intellectually advanced youth—Black Panther was sent to America to further his studies. In the comics he has become the eighth smartest man on Earth. And while this has not been revealed in the animated series, T’challa was rather unimpressed at his little sister’s two years of university studies. Suggesting that he may have something that is much higher. In Cape and Cowl, although he doesn’t KNOW a lot of the heroes personality, he probably at least has knowledge about the most famous ones. He knew who Juggernaut was right off the bat, and apparently they even had data on file about him. So it is likely that they have data on file about a lot of other super heroes as well. He can also speak multiple languages.

The best example of his intelligence that is shown in the show is when he starts to hack into and reprogram all the firewalls while still flying his vehicle.

COMMUNITY POST (VOICE) SAMPLE:

[ The feed is going to click on to T’challa staring at the screen. His mask is on, and he is in full Black Panther gear. If people were to recognize him, it would probably be as the Black Panther. Though it would be obvious to anyone that was watching that he wasn’t exactly happy about his change in location.]

So. From what I have been reading over the past few days, it seems that I have been abducted. Though I must admit; I did not believe I would ever get to experience dimensional travel first hand in my life time. However. I’m afraid it being by force is not something I appreciate.

You may recognize me. In my world I am known as the Black Panther. And ruler of Wakanda. Before you respond I want you to know; I am probably not the same Black Panther from your world. I don’t know even half of you personally. Though I have heard of some of you. [He figures he should get that out of the way. He has read a lot of entries of people recognizing someone, but that person has no recognition of who they are.]

If you know who I am on a more personal level, we should talk. In person. I would rather not use the device for such things

LOGS POST (PROSE) SAMPLE:

Since he had been here, T’challa waited for nightfall before exploring the city. Preferring the wander the streets during the day in regular clothes, just like any other civillain. He wasn’t trying to hide or conceal his identity. He was the leader of an entire nation. One of the most technologically advanced nation on the planet. But things were different here. He couldn’t be an idiot and jump through the city during the day like some glorious superhero. Matter of fact, he hadn’t even considered himself, but he wasn’t sure of his reputation in other worlds. What other different versions of himself had done. He could have been a villain in another world, caused chaos, had a bounty on his head. The possibilities of what he could b in different dimensions were endless. So, during the day, when the amount of citizens that were around was high, he preferred to blend into the crowd. Keep a steady eye out around him for anyone he might recognize. But things were different at night. He felt far better in the concealment of the darkness were it would be hard to be seen. Most people didn’t see well, or move as good at night either. But to him, night was as welcoming to his eyes and senses as broad day light.

He leaps from rooftop to rooftop, exploring this new found city to which he was taken. He was determined to find some kind of answers. Real ones. He wanted to know the interworkings of this place. He wanted to know exactly how he and these other people were brought here. He hopes that by exploring the City he might stumble upon some answers to the questions he desires.

FINAL NOTES:
The only thing I can think of is that in the show there might be a slight continuity error? It’s referenced that the Black Panther has fought the Fantastic Four even though it was T’challa that did it in the comic books and he wasn’t the Black Panther yet.
